The North Fork is easily accessible!


From Western Long Island, New York City and New Jersey

  1. Take the Long Island Expressway East to Exit 71 - Edwards Avenue.
  2. Turn left off exit.
  3. Stay in left lane. Be careful not to bear right.
  4. Continue 1.5 miles through light (Federal Express building on left).
  5. Continue 2.1 miles to light at Sound Avenue.
  6. Turn right on Sound Avenue.
  7. Continue on Sound Avenue for approximately 17 miles.
  8. Pass green "Peconic" sign on right.
  9. Pass Amoco Station on right.
  10. Turn at next right onto Peconic Lane. Continue to end.
  11. Turn left onto Route 25 East.
  12. Drive 9/10 of a mile and turn right into driveway just after the Ellis House sign.
  13. Green Victorian house with dark green shutters and stone driveway.
    If you reach Catapano's Nursery, turn around. You've gone too far.

From Cross Sound Ferry terminal at Orient Point

  1. Drive off ferry and through parking areas.
  2. Turn left at "Welcome to New York" sign - you can't turn right.
  3. Travel for approximately 8 miles to blinking light. The Shady Lady is on the right.
  4. Continue straight on Truck 25/Rte. 48
  5. At first stop light (12.6 miles from ferry), turn left on Horton's Road.
  6. Follow Horton's to end
  7. Turn right onto Main Street.
  8. Go through sharp turn to left (St. Patrick's RCC and Legion Hall on right.)
  9. Pass Gulf station on left.
  10. Pass Cattapano's greenhouses on left.
  11. Pass South Harbor Road on left.
  12. Immediately after South Harbor Road turn left into stone driveway.
  13. Green Victorian house with dark green shutters.
  14. If you pass the Ellis House sign you have passed our driveway.
  15. Registration and Parking
Please park in front of the house to register. Once registered, there are six parking spaces for your use, two in the front circle and four in the parking area behind the house. Spaces in the front of the house are used on a first come-first served basis.
